Beginning Spring 2021, SHIAC is a coalition of agencies & individual stakeholders that focus on the service industry of the Greater New Orleans area. SHIAC is modeled after "Sexual Assault Response Teams," to facilitates more effective collaboration, increased impact, and better outcomes for the communities served.
A core program offering of Shift Change's, our sexual violence awareness, prevention, intervention, and response training is the first-of-its-kind developed by service industry workers alongside professional advocates in the fields of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, human trafficking, forensic nursing, and Title IX. Business & individual certification program in partnership with HR company Gotcha Covered soon-to-launch.
A package of 4 activations in 36 hours to build a bridge between the service & hospitality workforce and sexual violence victim advocate & prevention specialists in a given locality outside of New Orleans, by facilitating community healing through dialogue, training on best practices in the workplace, the establishment of effective collaborative channels, and resource development.
Started in April 2017, Tip Out Day is a day of charitable giving for tipped employees of any kind, anywhere to donate all or a portion of their tips to local sexual violence prevention organizations of their choice. It takes place on the first Sunday after April 1st, and is officially recognized by the City of New Orleans.
